Thanks for this honest post! I'll let you in to a secret - I had to speed read C&P halfway through. probably cardinal sin to read faster than the process requires, but I'm a completist and I found it hard going, the tone and tension. i can re read one day. And every year I reread Master and Man. i have the audio too. The short stories make for such a good one sitting read.

I had the pleasure of seeing the opera Eugene Onegin in Heidelberg Opera House last year.

I liked it very much.I believe it is a novel written in verse by Alexander Pushkin.

I am going to buy a copy and join you in reading a Russian novel this winter.John is already ploughing through War and Peace ,you are not alone.
